Looking for a new home

We're moving!

The Blogging Buddies have experienced rapid growth since day one.

I believe this is because of our "groups".

Different than other blogging groups, we have "core groups" of up to 10 bloggers who visit each others site and leave comments.

No blog is left behind......

I think I am going to moving to a social network platform. That way we can have different groups for different categories, have profile pages, and request to be friends with each other.

Also, new members can join and add information themselves.

I will be keeping you updated with any new information.

This may happen in a day or a month :-)

I am currently checking out different social networking platforms as I write this.

Don't worry!

There will still be a place for new members to request to be placed into a "core group". And, I will still accept guest posts from our buddies!

Seeking bloggers with a "purpose"

I am seeking individuals who blog for a purpose on my radio show, Get Bizzy Blogging.

I am basically looking for blogs that are educational or informative- about raising a child with a disability, illness, saving animals, child abuse, household tips and tricks, car care, etc....helpful blogs.

OR if you blog (were hired!) for a business or company...listeners want to know how to do the same thing!

Do you blog for your church, school, other organization?

How does your blog help others or help you deal with the frustrations of your situation?

What I am NOT looking for:

Straight out Mom blogs (although we love you).

Anything that is all about "buy this" or "hire me"...although if that's on your blog as a "side" thing to your cause that's ok.

What About The Positive Side of Things??

I'm a 33yr.old single Mother of 4 with a heart of gold.  I would give my last to anyone.I love helping others.  My likes are Giveaways/Contests,Deals,Freebies,Coupons,and living frugal.

 

My blog Shannon's Tales of Motherhood   is a blog with giveaways, contests, deals, frugal living. I'm slowly working on it so my readers can know more about my life along with sharing stories.  I want to share my life experiences and get to know more about my readers.

As a Parent we always try to guide our children in the right direction.We help them with the choices that have to be made and love them the best way we know how.

It is our responsibility as parents to make sure our children are doing what is right and staying away from negativity.  It's only natural for us to correct them when they are wrong or when they made a mistake.  We often punish them when they get a bad grade or when they fib.

We nag about the shirt they left on the floor or their shoes in the middle of the dinning room along with a book bag or toys.  We argue with them to keep their room clean and to do their homework. 

But.... WHAT ABOUT THE POSITIVE SIDE OF THINGS? Do we acknowledge them when you see an A+ on the lab report or when they do their homework without being told?  Do we stop what were doing in our busy lives and say thank-you to our children for going to school and not cutting class today?  Do say we are happy that no shoes or toys are laying around when they are picked up?  

Do we ask how was their day and ask why when they respond with it wasn't to good?

Do we scream about spilled milk???

 

Today I challenge all of us as Parents to tell our children 3 positive things today.  I challenge us all to take 20 minutes to sit down and let them know what the things are that you are proud of.  I'm sure alot of parents are ready point out the positive things to their children and I hope no one takes this post in the wrong way.

I will be the first to admit I have to step up a little more and acknowledge more of the positive things my children do.

Balance

New things are fun. New things are exciting. New things take time. New things take energy. New things can get in the way of important things.

These have been my thoughts of late, specifically regarding blogging. I am relatively new to the blogging world, and I really enjoy it. I’ve spent lots of time getting things set up and running, planning and writing posts, taking pictures to add to posts, reading new friends’ posts, and so on. I love getting feedback from people, and making comments on others’ sites. It’s all been new and fun and exciting.

BUT--I’m finding that while I’ve been having all my fun, other more important things have been falling by the wayside (just ask my laundry room!) My children walk by the computer and utter words like, “Are you on that AGAIN?!”

So, I have had to do some prioritizing. If I don’t get to read all of the new posts in my feed, the world will not fall apart, but if I don’t spend the time I should talking to my husband, my marriage might fall apart! That should be an easy decision. 

Blogging is a good thing. Spending more time blogging than doing what’s most important is a bad thing. It sounds so simple, but if you’re at all like me, it is easy to let that balance get out of whack. What is a blogging enthusiast to do then? 

For me the answer lies in setting limits and asking my heavenly Father to help me keep those limits and to use my time WISELY. 

What helps you to keep a good balance between your online life and your family/home life?
